Double Chocolate Friands

Here are the complete recipe for Double Chocolate Friands. This Chocolate Friand is a heaven for chocolate lovers.


  • 175g Organic Self Raising Flour

  • 3 Organic eggs

  • 275g Organic Caster Sugar

  • 100g unsalted butter

  • 50g organic cocoa powder

  • 6 tbsp boiling water

  • 50ml organic milk

  • Chocolate ganache: 284ml double cream, 200g dark chocolate


  • Preheat the oven to fan 140C/conventional 160C/ gas 3

  • Grease a 12-hole friand tin.

  • Cream the butter and sugar together.

  • Sift in the self raising flour and cocoa powder. Mix thoroughly.

  • Add the boiling water and milk.

  • Pour into the friand tins, and bake in the oven at 160c fan for 10-15 minutes until the sponge is light and springy to the touch.

  • Once cooked take out of the tins and leave to cool on a wire rack.

  • For the Chocolate ganache heat the double cream and then add the chocolate. Leave to set for around 6 hours.

  • Once the friands are cooled you can pipe the ganache onto the friands. Heaven!
