This Is Why You Should Go For Jaguar F-Type R Convertible

Jaguar has recently released its Jaguar F-Type R Convertible.

Here are some of the quality reasons you will definitely go for to buying it.

1. That sound. THAT SOUND. If you’re in any way concerned about disturbing the neighbours the F-Type R is not the car for you. Because they will take to the streets with pitchforks and flaming torches if you regularly leave the house early in the morning or arrive home late at night.

This car is LOUD. Righteously loud, but loud all the same. And every time you press the starter button, you will smile.

If you don’t, you have somehow died without realising it.

2. It’s not a case of sound over substance, either. The source of that incredible barking, snarling sound is a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that produces 542bhp.

That’s quite a lot of power: enough to ensure that the 0-62mph benchmark sprint is dispatched in just 4.2 seconds. So it’s quick, too.

3. It has power – and it knows how to use it. Sometimes, cars with the performance levels of the F-Type R don’t quite know how to use it.

In short, they’re rather blunt instruments. Not so with the Jag: it knows exactly how to use that power and combine it with agile handling to make this a joy to drive.

Precise, while also having the capacity to be a little, er, playful, the F-Type R is involving and tremendous fun to drive

4. You can lower the roof. Well, duh, of course you can: it's a convertible. Ah yes, but the difference with the F-Type R is that you’ll want to do it as much as possible, to hear that glorious-sounding engine.

OK, so having a convertible is, in some ways, something of a compromise (the Coupé is slightly better to drive – coupés always are), but it’s worth it to hear the unmediated, undeadened sound of that engine and the quad exhaust pipes.

5. It’s sex on wheels. Seeing the F-Type R inevitably results in love at first sight.

This is one sexy-looking car. Sleek, slender and sporty, but curved in just the right places, it’s compact and pert, but with an underscoring muscularity that promises the ride of your life when you take in its stunning shape.

6. You know you’re in a sports car. The cabin is snug, in the right kind of way, with supportive sports seats (14-way adjustment), all the controls to hand, with a focused cockpit-like feel and enough flashes of carbon-fibre to make to feel like an F1 driver.

7. There’s some tech stuff. Jaguar and its Land Rover sibling brand are keen on the latest in-car technology, with their InControl infotainment system, which F-Type R owners will find a useful addition to the equipment line-up.

There’s also Bluetooth, DAB radio and a 10-speaker sound system – for when you get bored of listening to the engine. WHICH WILL BE NEVER.

8. Plenty of kit to keep you safe. The temptation with a car such as the F-Type R is to get a little ambitious with one’s driving ability – and that’s never a good idea.

However, Jaguar has very wisely included lots of safety equipment in the F-Type R, including plenty of electronic systems to ensure traction can be maintained, an uprated braking system and a pedestrian contact sensing system.
