This probably isn’t the first time a comparison has been made between Trump and a superhero villain.
When Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States on Friday, he addressed the Washington crowd saying: ‘Today we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington D.C. and giving it back to you, the people.’
Viewers on Twitter noticed that the wording was very similar to Bane’s speech in the Christopher Nolan film, when he gives a rousing speech outside Blackgate Prison.
Bane, played by Tom Hardy in the film, says: ‘We take Gotham from the corrupt, the rich, the oppressors of generations who have kept you down with myths opportunity, and we give it back to you, the people.’
