Foods That Will Increase Your Sex Drive

Citrus fruits, in particular oranges, have many properties which can help improve bedroom activity.

Most importantly for libido, they contain the phytonutrient hesperidin, which increases blood flow.

In previous tests, researchers took a group of volunteers with cold hands and found blood flow increased after just two cups of orange juice.

Stress is often linked to a lack of interest in sex, and vitamin C is known to be a stress busting antioxidant.

In one study German researchers subjected 120 people to a stressful public speaking task combined with math problems.

Half of those studied were given 1,000 mg of vitamin C.

Such signs of stress as elevated levels of the stress hormone cortisol and high blood pressure were significantly greater in those who did not get the vitamin supplement.

Those who got vitamin C reported that they felt less stressed when they got the vitamin.

Citrus has also been linked to sperm health - fruits high in vitamin C have been found to assist in the making of properly functioning sperm and stops them from massing altogether.

Finally, for those aiming to get pregnant, oranges could improve fertility levels.

A study conducted between 1997 and 2000 at Sapporo Medical University and Sapporo Toho Hospital in Japan found that vitamin C supplementation improved the hormone levels of 53 per cent of women who were previously having difficulty trying to get pregnant.

As well as oranges, eggs and almonds have also previously been found to increase sex drive.

Eggs are full of protein, which keeps you going without packing on the calories.

They're also an excellent source of amino acids, which combat certain types of heart ailments as well as erectile dysfunction.

Almonds are said to act as a sexual stimulant and a fertility aid, so if you’re trying for a baby, start snacking.

They are rich in nutrients and in several minerals that are important for sexual health and reproduction, including zinc, selenium, and vitamin E. Zinc can also help enhance sexual desire.
